xpedx, a customer-driven distributor of printing paper and packaging supplies and equipment, has been a solid business partner with Midland starting from our very early days.
By taking the time to understanding our quick-turn, short-run digital printing environment, xpedx has aligned with us to implement some real just-in-time solutions. They have helped us significantly reduce our inventory levels by offering daily deliveries and warehousing options to accommodate our quick-turn manufacturing facility. They worked to streamline our ordering processes - reducing the total number of purchase orders we issue and the amount of administrative time it takes to work with them as a vendor.
Most recently, we worked together with xpedx to incorporate many supply side offerings enabling us to further streamline our order processing costs and reduce the total number of orders issued and received.
Serving primarily retail customers and small to medium printers through its 125 wholesale distribution centers and 200 stores, xpedx operates 10 million square feet of warehouse space, 1300 delivery trucks and has approximately $7 billion in annual sales with more than $400 million in daily inventory at its distribution locations.
