The Social Media Revolution

The buzz word “Social Media” seems to be everywhere these days, but what exactly is it? How can it be used to better communicate between customers, colleagues, or suppliers? Is this just another trend or is it something that really needs to be paid attention to?

Social Media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter have created methods for media to be distributed through social interaction. These social media tools use internet based technologies to transform broadcast media monologues (one too many) into social media dialogues (many to many). These sites also support knowledge and information to be spread across many people “transforming people from content consumers into content producers.”
