Highlights from the US Chamber Summit 2009

Midland Information Resources was given the Midwest Regional Small Business of the Year award at the Annual U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Summit in Washington DC on May 12th, 2009. Three employees had the honor of accompanying Tom Sheehan, President, and Mary Gehrls, VP-Business Operations at MIR to this prestigious event.

The Summit provided an opportunity for small business leaders to meet with policymakers to discuss issues important to their businesses.

MIR was originally selected as one of 56 Blue Ribbon winners. MIR was then awarded the Midwest Regional Small Business of the Year and one of 7 national finalists for the U.S. Small Business of the Year.

Below are pictures of both awards ceremonies.

When not attending award events, employees were encouraged to spend some time seeing the sights. Below are pictures taken by our lucky winners John Granack, Production Operator, Chad Lowery, Production Supervisor, and Maggie Weber, Receptionist & Administration Support.
