Midland Information Resources wins Explorer Award from the E-Gov 2002 Government Solutions Center
Midland Information Resources, along with alliance partners AdminaStar Federal and Affina, has been awarded an Explorer Award in the E-Gov 2002 Government Solutions Center Awards Program for “best practices” or programs that deliver citizen-centric E-Government services.
In its fifth year, E-Gov 2002 is the only Conference, Exposition and Awards Program dedicated to discussion of the essential strategies and technologies required to deliver government services in the digital world.
Midland was selected as an Explorer award winner for it’s end-to-end 800# call center, customized book-building, on-demand printing and fulfillment solution for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) – two national health-care programs that benefit about 75 million Americans.
Each nominated program was judged based on the following criteria:
§ Enabled improved government service through E-Government initiatives
§ Is actively In-Use (prototypes and pilot project were not accepted)
§ Solved problems or streamlined processes that impact many constituents
§ Increased productivity and/or saved public sector resources (time and funds)
§ Improved the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of government services
§ Improved constituent satisfaction
§ Has organization-wide use and impact
Midland’s relationship with CMS began when they identified a need to provide personalized and variable Medicare information to beneficiaries based on specific information that would be provided by the individual requestor.
Beneficiaries who call requesting information about the Medicare program receive professional 800# Call Center Customer Service Support to guide them through the Medicare Personal Plan Finder - meaning they are guaranteed to get a personalized book that is relevant to their geographic area, their specific health conditions and the specific plans they want to review.
An end-to-end custom book-building program was created which automatically assembles specific XML data gathered and created by the MPPF decision tool and builds on-demand personalized health care documents mailed directly to each requestor.
Individual books are built in less than 2 seconds, then printed and mailed out to the individual requestor within 72-hours of their 800# call or website entry.
Today, the program delivers up to 5000 unique books per day to individual requestors. The program continues to expand and our efforts have also earned a Superior Government Rating – which is the top government rating offered. This rating is based on quality of product, on-time delivery and, mostly, based on the creative solutions, program development and cost optimizations offered to CMS.
